Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience maintaining industrial utility systems in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, laboratory, or healthcare environments.
Universal EPA 608 certification for refrigerant handling.
Proficiency in operation and maintenance of industrial chillers, steam and hot water boilers, cooling towers, and central plant equipment.
Working knowledge of purified water systems including reverse osmosis, deionization, electrode ionization, and clean steam generation.
Experience with building automation systems (BAS), programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and energy management systems.
Ability to read and interpret P&IDs;, electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and equipment manuals.
Competency in basic plumbing, pipefitting, welding, electrical troubleshooting, and mechanical repair.
Understanding of cGMP principles and regulatory requirements affecting utility systems in life sciences facilities.
Knowledge of cleanroom classifications, HVAC critical parameters, and contamination control strategies.
Ability to use standard hand tools, power tools, diagnostic instruments, and test equipment safely and effectively.
Ability to lift and carry equipment and materials up to 50 pounds regularly.
Capability to work in confined spaces, at heights on ladders or lifts, and in mechanical rooms with elevated noise and temperature conditions.
Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and participate in on-call rotation for emergency response.
Potential exposure to chemicals, biological materials, extreme temperatures, and energized electrical equipment with appropriate PPE and training.
