Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas (Current/Valid State of TX RN license or temporary RN license or, Compact RN license in good standing)
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
Two (2) years of nursing experience
Current/Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) healthcare provider certification card at time of hire
Current/Valid American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification card at time of hire
Current/Valid Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification card at time of hire
Current/Valid Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) or Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN) certification at time of interview
All certification cards must provide an expiration date with expiration more than 30 days from date of hire
Possess effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
Ability to communicate with patients, families, and hospital staff in accordance with established policies and procedures
Ability to provide direction to non-nursing staff, serve as a preceptor, and serve on rotation as a Charge Nurse
Ability to prepare and conduct in-service educational programs
Ability to demonstrate patient centered/patient valued behaviors
Must be able to demonstrate independent judgment in providing nursing care
Must be able to provide safe nursing care to stable, critically unstable, and critically stable patients
Must be able to provide care across a range of specialties (Cardiovascular, Dental, ENT, Endocrine, etc.) with appropriate documentation
Must be able to perform safe medication administration using six rights and manage IV access
Must be able to perform Point of Care (POC) testing and invasive hemodynamic monitoring as applicable
