High school diploma or equivalent
Technical training a plus
Must pass a certified welding procedure test
Certifications in welding, NDT, or mechanical trades
Minimum of three (3) years' experience in welding, repair, or related heavy equipment manufacturing roles
Previous work in railcar repair, heavy equipment maintenance, or industrial mechanics
Experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, or brake systems
Ability to stand, bend, reach, climb, and lift up to 40lbs
Ability to operate heavy machinery, power tools, or equipment
Shift work may be required depending on operational needs
Safety‑focused culture, requiring ongoing training and compliance requirements
Zero-tolerance drug and alcohol policy and are subject to pre-employment, random, post-incident, and reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing
Inspects railcars for structural damage, wear, defects, and compliance with FRA, AAR, and company standards
Performs repairs including welding, cutting, grinding, and component replacement
Documents all work performed using maintenance logs, repair forms, and digital systems
Operates heavy tools and equipment such as torches, jacks, pneumatic tools, and forklifts
Follows safety protocols including lockout/tagout, confined space procedures, and PPE requirements
Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices
Reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requested, or according to an established schedule
