Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
0 to 3 years of relevant experience
Completion of one or more relevant internships during college education
Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Working knowledge of 2D and 3D drafting software, such as AutoCAD and Creo
Possesses foundational engineering concepts
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Primary: General office environment requiring extended periods of sitting in ambient inside temperature, lighting and noise level
Secondary: Laboratory, production, warehouse environment with exposure to temperature and noise variations, operating machinery/equipment and potential some exposure to chemicals and vapors
As Needed: Customer locations, railcar maintenance and manufacturing shops, railyards, outdoors, conferences and industry events and supplier and subcontractor locations
Must be able to sit, walk, stand reach with hand and arms, stoop, kneel, bend and twist, grasp and manipulate with hands and fingers as needed
Lifting generally less than 5lbs. May occasionally be required to lift up to 25lbs without assistance
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus naturally or with corrective eyewear
