Excellent communication skills
Basic understanding of microbiological and chemistry testing procedures
Education and Experience: Experience in Food Manufacturing with Food Science I Technology or equivalent experience preferred
Previous experience in food manufacturing environment with laboratory testing and sampling experience
Must be organized and analytical
Requires lifting up to 50 pounds. Requires exposure to machines, chemicals and solvents
Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and laboratory equipment
Ability to work independently
Basic understanding of laboratory testing equipment
Physical Demands: Requires prolonged sitting and standing, bending, stooping and climbing
Requires normal range of hearing and vision (including colors) to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports and laboratory results
Nonessential Qualifications: Ability to speak and/ or write English. Spanish speaking and writing is desired
Must be adaptable and flexible
Excellent recordkeeping in documentation skills
Experience in microbiology, GMP's, chemistry, design, sanitation and quality systems preferred
