Payroll experience
Multi-state payroll processing
3+ years of payroll experience, including multi-state payroll processing for high-volume employee populations (500+)
Bilingual in English and Spanish (required)
Strong knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and labor compliance
Experience creating and improving SOPs and process documentation
Proficiency with payroll systems (ADP, Paycom, UKG, etc.) and strong Excel skills
Excellent attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Process end-to-end, multi-state payroll for 500+ employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Manage payroll audits, reconciliations, and reporting
Maintain and update payroll records, tax documents, and employee data
Partner with the HR Manager to support onboarding, new hire documentation, and orientation processes
Assist with employee relations matters, including responding to employee inquiries and supporting issue resolution
Develop, document, and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for payroll and HR processes
Ensure compliance with company policies and labor laws, particularly in a manufacturing environment
Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, finance, and leadership teams

Bachelor's degree preferred
5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience
Experience preferably within manufacturing, construction, industrial, distribution, or similar environments
Demonstrated success managing full-cycle recruiting for both exempt and non-exempt positions
Strong background in employee relations, investigations, performance management, and conflict resolution
Extensive knowledge of California employment laws and HR compliance
Hands-on experience administering leave programs, including FMLA, CFRA, ADA, PDL, and PFL
Experience managing Workers' Compensation claims and partnering with third-party administrators (TPAs)
Bilingual Spanish is a plus but not required
Ability to build trusted relationships with employees and leaders at all levels of the organization
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities
