- Polysomnography Technician, Medical Assistant, RN, LPN, Respiratory Therapist, or EEG technician experience is required.
- Must have obtained and maintain Basic Life Saving (BLS) certification.
- Years of relevant experience: Minimum of two years of experience is preferred.
- The position does not require an employee to be registered by American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM), National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC), Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) or other accepted certification body by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM). If the employee is not registered, one of the criteria listed below must be met:
- Be enrolled in or have completed the A-STEP Online Self Study Modules. Non-registered technicians must complete the A-STEP Online Self Study Module within two years of enrollment.
- Be enrolled in or have completed training in polysomnography in a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or a Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) program with the polysomnography option.
