Minimum of High School diploma or GED required.
Must have accredited CVT program, echocardiography program OR Associate's degree with emphasis on natural science OR 10 years' experience as a Registered Echo Sonographer.
Must be registered under one of the following agencies:
O R. D. M. S.- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with a specialty in Cardiology
O R. D. C. S.- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer
O R. C. S.- Registered Cardiac Sonographer
Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience and demonstrated scanning ability.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
Must have demonstrated aptitude of computer and keyboard function with medical applications.
Must have extensive knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology and pathology.
Must have ability to prioritize and effectively perform under stressful situations.
Must have ability to provide care and consideration for patients/families and to effectively deal with other staff and public.
Must demonstrate competencies in Pediatric Views and Pathology.
Basic computer knowledge: ability to operate a PC, create/save/print documents, input data.
