Changes oil, checks batteries, repair tires and tubes and lubricates equipment and machinery.
EXPERIENCE & TRAINING: Prior work experience as a maintenance mechanic in an industrial or shipyard environment is preferred.
Must have training or certifications on maintaining lattice boom crawler cranes.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Specializes in crawler crane maintenance and repair.
When repairs to electronic components are done following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints and other specifications.
Performs "tag out" or "lock out" procedures on equipment in the yard.
Inspects defective equipment and diagnoses malfunctions using analyzers, pressure gauges, chassis charts and factory manuals.

General FUNCTION: Inspects, repairs and maintains functional automotive and heavy mechanical equipment and machinery such as forklifts, front-end loaders and cherry pickers along with that of electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment.
Disassembles and overhauls engines, pumps, pump power units, generators, transmissions, clutches and rear ends, using hand tools and hoist.
Adjusts brakes, aligns wheels, tightens bolts and screws, and reassembles equipment.
