Tool / Die Maker III
Must be able to read and analyze complicated blueprints and drawings and have a basic knowledge of positional tolerance.
Ability to use all types of inspection instruments and precision measuring devices.
Knowledge of 2D and 3D solid geometry, trigonometry and related mathematics required for making accurate measurements checks with standard and digital read-out, operation of microprocessors, profilometer, computers and printers.
Possess knowledge of shop practices and have a broad knowledge of metals and their reaction to all types of processes normally used by the company.
Knowledge of inspection requirements, company quality standards, and military specifications
Ability to keep accurate inspection records and communicate directly with engineering personnel.
Operates various machines and performs other highly skilled work, such as laying out, fitting and assembling parts.
May involve considerable development work, highly skilled fitting, timing and adjusting.
Will analyze drawing and/or blueprints, determine tooling required and determine procedures to be follow for making parts needed. Must be able to fabricate specialized tools where no design is available.
Physical: can lift, push, pull or move up to fifty (50) pounds or more with assistance.
Occasionally required to lift up to 30 lbs.
Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about the facility.
Safety glasses, shop coat/apron, proper shoes.
Occasional exposure to shop element such as noise, dust, odors and fumes.
