Serve as the subject matter expert for safety issues: advise site leadership on hazard recognition, risk assessment, corrective action, mitigation strategies, and compliance obligations
Investigate accidents, near misses, injuries, and property damage incidents
Lead root-cause analysis, document findings, and collaborate with management to implement corrective/preventative measures
Administer and oversee Workers Compensation processes including injury reporting, documentation, return-to-work coordination, and communication with HR and insurance carriers to ensure timely and compliant case management
Maintain and ensure accuracy of DOT (Department of Transportation) files, including driver qualification files, drug/alcohol testing records, and vehicle inspection/maintenance logs; ensure compliance with all FMCSA and DOT safety regulations
Develop, implement and maintain safety policies, procedures, and standards tailored to tire-industry operations (e.g., handling heavy equipment, molds, compound materials, mechanical hazards, mobile equipment, loading/unloading tires, forklift/truck traffic)
Deliver safety training programs and toolbox talks for employees, supervisors and site leadership across operations. Ensure training is tailored to specific tire-industry risks and site realities Monthly safety meetings
