Must pass the Plant Operator Selection System (POSS) and Basic Math and Science Test (BMST) testing
Must be able to receive unescorted Nuclear access as a member of a critical group
1 year of technical experience, which includes any of the following: work performed in power production, petrochemical or other industrial process plants during operational, maintenance, design, or training activities. Alternative relevant experience examples include operation and maintenance of equipment, such as HVAC, electrical and maintenance technicians.
2 years of experience in operations or maintenance of a non-generating nuclear power facility (e.g. Navy Nuclear operations or maintenance training/experience or operations or maintenance experience at a DOE facility)
A Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, or related science program
An Associates of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology or related science program
43 credit hours of post-secondary education of which 75% (at least 8 courses or 32 hours) is advanced math, physics, chemistry and/or engineering/engineering technology.
Trainees must successfully complete a License Medical Screening and Fire Brigade Screening prior to introduction into the Non-Licensed Operator Training Program.
