High school graduate or equivalent.
Must possess a degree/diploma from an accepted Line School or a state issued Journeyman certificate for an Advanced step position.
Must presently be qualified to be a 3rd Step Apprentice Lineman or higher and have a working knowledge of all phases of Distribution and Transmission Construction, Maintenance and Operating.
Must possess a state issued Journeyman certificate and pass a company skills assessment for a Journeyman position.
Documentation of completion of a Journeyman Lineman program is required.
Must have good communication and teamwork skills.
Requires participation in after-hour emergency callouts in all kinds of weather conditions - must be willing to accept callouts and work overtime.
Experience with bucket trucks, digger derricks, trenchers and groundwork with utility line crew required.
A high awareness of safety and compliance with company safety rules is required at all times. Must be committed to working safely.
Must meet driver qualification requirements as specified in FMCSR parts 382 and 391 including the possession of a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A.
Must be physically capable of performing all aspects of electric overhead and underground distribution construction, operations, and maintenance work.
This position is subject to D.O.T. random drug and alcohol testing
Ability to successfully work with customers on a wide range of concerns.
