Tig Welder
The Tig Welder position responsibilities include fitting and joining and repairing metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques in accordance with product specifications and production schedules.
Working hours are general 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., but may be adjusted as needed to meet production needs
Perform welding duties using a TIG welder.
Use welding equipment to weld steel components as specified by layouts, engineering drawings, work orders, or verbal instructions.
Work with others to assist in the welding of multi-component parts.
Operate forklifts, hoists, hand power tools, slings, grinders, cutting torch, and other hand tools related to the jobs needs.
Inspect and correct welds as necessary to meet product specifications.
Read, understand, and follow job order specifications, engineering drawings, and/or work orders.
Willingness to cross-train and perform the work of other job tasks in addition to the primary assigned position.
Communicates with management, for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues.
Responsible for keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly and perform basic preventive maintenance functions on equipment. Suggest and implement improvements.
Completes all required safety procedures prior to and during operations.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to multitask and prioritize in an effective way.
Ability to read a tape measure and caliper.
Ability to operate a forklift.
Ability to read and understand blue prints and other shop drawing aids.
Demonstrated competency in basic shop math, including fraction to decimal conversion skills.
