High school diploma or general education degree (GED); typically 4–6 years of prior manufacturing experience or a combination of experience, education, and/or training to sufficiently and successfully perform the essential functions of the job
A two-year technical degree or approved apprenticeship in related coursework (i.e., CNC mill or lathe) is a plus
Must have an understanding of basic programming strategies; ability to interpret machine tool programming languages (G & M codes) to perform troubleshooting and changeovers
Working knowledge of GD&T; and blueprint reading
Has knowledge of metalworking tools, work holding, and other common concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
Must be able to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 50 pounds
