Various welding codes like ASME Section III, ASME Section IX, or NAVSEA 250-1500.
Must be comfortable working effectively in a manufacturing environment where arc welding like GTAW, GMAW, SMAW, SAW, FCAW, PTAW processes which are used to produce x-ray quality structural and seal welds
Candidates need a working knowledge of welding metallurgy
A minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Welding Engineering, or Welding Engineering Technology. Degrees in Metallurgy, or Materials Science with Welding Engineering experience will also be considered.
Knowledge of arc welding processes.
Candidates need experience with either ASME Section III, ASME Section IX, NAVSEA, or Tech Pub welding codes.
Candidates should have experience working with various carbon, alloy and stainless steels, along with nickel, and copper-based alloys, in addition to dissimilar metal welding.
Must have prior experience as a Welding Engineer, Materials Engineer, or Manufacturing Engineer
Due to DoD requirements, candidates must be US citizens
Must be able to obtain and maintain DoD Security clearances and approvals
