Must be able to pass a 2-week (UNPAID) program (80 hours), 7:00am - 3:30pm (Monday -Friday) OR present one or more certificates of completion or diploma in Marine Painting or a directly related field from a high school vocational program, community college, trade school, technical college, apprentice program, post-secondary institution, or military equivalent.

Monitor welding, cutting, grinding, brazing, and other hot work operations
Conduct fire watch and fire prevention inspections before, during, and after hot work activities
Identify and eliminate potential fire hazards within assigned work areas
Maintain fire extinguishers and other fire prevention equipment in a ready state
Monitor surrounding compartments and adjacent spaces for sparks, smoke, heat transfer, or other hazards
Ensure compliance with NAVSEA requirements, shipyard regulations, and client safety procedures
Complete required fire watch logs, permits, and documentation
Report unsafe conditions, incidents, and near misses to supervision immediately
Assist during emergency situations and support site safety efforts as needed
Maintain clear communication with supervisors, safety personnel, and production teams
