Observes, operates and listens to mechanical equipment in operation to locate causes of trouble. Dismantles devices to gain access to remove and replace defective parts. Examines shape, form, and wear of parts to detect imperfections and problems.
Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements and adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments using hand tools, levels and straight edges.
Repairs and replaces defective parts by removing and installing equipment components. Lubricates and cleans parts, start devices to test for performance.
A plus - able to set up and operate basic tool room equipment. Lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to repair or adjust parts.
A plus - Able to organize, plan and prioritize work for others.
