Prior machining experience
Knowledge in general machining practices
Knowledge of addition, subtraction, fractions, decimals and calculate tooling speeds/feeds
Set up and remove work pieces from a machine per procedure
Proficiently use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators and gauges to ensure conformance of specified tolerances
Ability to perform in-process inspections at a machine and adjust various offsets to ensure conformance of workpieces as required
Position and secure workpieces on machines using measuring instruments, holding devices, hand tools, and cranes
Study blueprints, lay outs, sketches, and work orders to determine tolerances and work procedures
Ability to recognize tooling types -- facemill, drill, taps, etc.
