Education requirements: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree with ABET-accredited program or equivalent educational pathways as detailed (engineering degree requirements listed).
Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, DC, Guam, or Puerto Rico, or alternative pathways (FE exam passed, or equivalent education/experience) per the standards outlined.
Evidence of having successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination or any other written test required for professional registration by an engineering licensure board.
Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences meeting the basic requirements, or equivalent curriculum options described.
Temporary appointments may be extended up to 3 years; temporary promotions up to 5 years; may be made permanent without further competition.
